Swadhyay or self-learning should be an essential part of life for every individual. It is also acknowledged as one of the Niyama (as per Yog Darshan) and is also prescribed in the Principles of Arya Samaj. The learning is enhanced when there is access to a good teacher or Acharya.

Access to Acharya or Teachers (learning resources) physically can be restrictive and costly. For e.g., in the fast pace of life today, it is not possible for everyone to travel to an Acharya or invite them home for learning.

However, online learning has enabled much easier access to Vedic knowledge for a much larger number of people in a much more practical and cost effective way.

A very encouraging trend is that numerous Vedic scholars have begun uploading videos of their discourses online. In many cases, there are multiple videos on each subject by different Acharya.

In Adhyayan module, we aim to streamline online learning content and experience through a “Learning Management System”, such that

  1. We register learners and classify them by their learning interest, age group and previous learning history. Hence, we will be able to help them make optimal choices on which online learning programs they should enroll for.
  2. Normally, there is a lot of online content available on every subject of common learning interest. This makes it difficult for a learner to choose the optimal one for them. We will curate (select) the most effective and relevant content from that which is available online. We will also arrange the selected content in a proper order or sequence. This will help the learner improve his learning effectiveness.
  3. Provide opportunities to learners to post their queries and questions on the LMS platform. All these can be aggregated and they can be resolved by the Acharya on the platform. Effective and periodic compilation of FAQs will also help resolve recurring queries more effectively.
  4. Provide periodic assessments to serious learners so that they know how well they have learnt. Based on their progress, future courses can be recommended to them.
  5. Integrate online classes with experiential learning through camps or shivirs for different age groups. Thus, learners can go through a learning journey that is integrated across both, online and offline programs.
  6. If the Acharya so desires, he can levy a fee for the students enrolling for his program. This will create a source of income for the Acharya or Institute, while at the same time, it will also improve the quality of the learning programs. From a student perspective, if he is getting good, curated content, he would not mind paying a nominal fee to access the right content.

As mentioned above, we will be adopting a Learning Management System (LMS) or platform to deliver Adhyayan or learning modules, far more effectively to a larger number of people globally. This will help generate interest and participation in Vedic learning across the population that is spread globally.
