Swami Dayanand had declared “Back to the Vedas“. However, a very small minority of Vedic Dharma followers have Vedas and various scriptures at home. Even for those who have, they are hardly able to read or understand Vedas or the scriptures. If this were to continue, there is no way we can return to the Vedas because we have just not given ourselves a fair opportunity to even access them.
We have also not taken much effort to preserve the Vedic Bhashya, scriptures and various books written by Vedic scholars in the last 5000 years. We have lost many of these books forever, with no printed copies available now. With the reduction in the habit of self-learning, the demand for these books has diminished. Hence, even when books are published, enough copies are not sold.
Thus, we are launching Sanrakshan & Shodh – the module that digitizes Vedas, scriptures and various books that have been written by Vedic scholars in the last 5000 years. It is called so because not only will it preserve these books, but will also enable access to and research in the topics covered in these books across different languages. This module will enable the following
- Vedic knowledge being accessible globally online. It will be in a format wherein a common man can understand it. It will be available in various languages. For instance, the bhashya of Vedas is available in more than 5 languages on vedicscriptures.in
- Researchers all over the world can research and compare the learnings of Vedic scriptures with those of other sects and religions. It will help him make more conscious choices on religions and beliefs, and identify that which is the Truth.
- Preserving scriptures and books that do not find enough circulation, and therefore, are difficult to be published. Hence we are making these books available online.
- Offering the content of this module for learning experience in Adhyayan Module. For instance, a student who is learning Upanishads in the Adhyayan module can refer to Upanishads in this module. She / He can also buy books on Upanishad from the Sanrakshan and Shodh module.
- Sanrakshan and Shodh are critical to demystify the Vedic scriptures and make them available freely for one and all, cutting across all barriers globally.
- It will also help in publication of rare books that are out of print.
